When Nature Paints

A spectacular sunset at Anaeho‘omalu Bay along the Kohala Coast on Hawai‘i Island. Not every sunset is quite this dramatic, but I always hope for something when I happen to be on the Kohala Coast. This day really delivered a beautiful palette and I was glad I was there to experience it.

Hidden in Plain Sight

An ‘amakihi hides in a rare ‘oha wai. The ‘oha wai was thought to be extinct at one point due to habitat destruction by wild pigs. Then they were found to exist high in the crooks of some trees and have carefully been brought back into native reforestation efforts.
